Can anyone remember when I ran an article about a little competition I didn’t really want Luton to be featured in?

If not, please click on the attached link – a-competition-id-rather-we-did-not-feature-in-but – for a reminder.

Well, revisiting the situation, via the web site of those that run it – iLiveHere – with Luton winning this far from prestigious award.

That’s right, when it comes to living in the worst place in England, Luton triumphed holding off challenges from the likes of Peterborough and Portsmouth.

I find it all a little sad really that people, many of whom I’m guessing have never lived in our town, chose to vote for us.

Okay, some parts may not be pleasing on the eye, but we have facilities that others can be jealous of, parks, some more parks and, oh yes, an airport!

But come on, you tell me you haven’t visited worse, I could run off a list of quite a few just from my football travels and also from just touring the country.

However, as we’ve won it, I thought we might as well celebrate the fact, I wonder if we’ll retain it next year!

As ex lorry driver I has seen the best worst of most places the Coldest place was Fraserburgh in the summer 🥶. But everywhere has its good spots and not so good spots so to say one place is better than other is wrong but as you say people just vote against places they don’t like ie Watford. . So things like this are stupid to me . Coyh

there are many worse places than luton, and i have stayed in a lot of them during my working life. but there are always lovely people to be found in any location. these polls are totally useless, but somebody always wants to slag something off. COYH.

I’m in Goole right now, following my second team Hallam FC, and this town is definitely a lot worse than Luton. Apart from the Tom Pudding micropub and the railway station, it’s got nothing going for it.
