A difficult match bearing in mind the injury problems faced by Luton, and Reading’s long run without a defeat in the league.

The Royals have gone 33 league games unbeaten since Plymouth Argyle beat them on the opening day of the season.

Don’t ask me why, but I haver a good feeling about this one. I reckon the Town might put in a performance.

Vital Quotes:

Mike Newell told www.lutontown.co.uk:

‘The longer and longer it goes, the less daunting it will become because it will become a big burden on their shoulders. They have been promoted for a long time and I do believe they will win the division.

?I said when we played them in December that I was convinced they were up and they have carried on that good form. They have probably got 100 points in their sights now so it will be a difficult game because they are the best side in the division. Having said that, I do believe someone will beat them before the end of the season.

‘A lot of credit must go to Steve Coppell because he has put together a side that has run away with the league. I like Steve, he is a very quiet fella, very studious, knows what he is doing.?

‘We always need the supporters backing and we are expecting a big crowd on Friday night. I am sure that Reading will bring plenty and it would make for a good night. I like night games at Kenilworth Road and I know the supporters do. It will be a fantastic atmosphere, I just hope we can give them a performance to go with it.?

Stev Coppell quotes to follow

Luton Town Team News:

Keith Keane is still on International duty and Paul Underwood, Warren Feeney and Chris Coyne are all still doubtful, but undergo fitness tests before the match.

Steve Robinson is definitely still sidelined, as is David Bell, who may miss the rest of the season with a cartilage injury which requires an operation.

Player to watch: Steve Howard

He’s dying to get that 100th goal and I tip him to do it in front of the cameras.

Reading Team News:

Brynjar Gunnarsson is available again after suspension and Leroy Lita is back after missing the game at Sheffield with a facial injury.

There are no new injuries and suspensions so Steve Coppell can choose from a full strength squad.

Player to watch: Dave Kitson

Scoring far too many goals for my liking!
