Luton – Up Against The Odds On The South Coast

Weather wise, could there be a better time to take on AFC Bournemouth, at the Vitality Stadium?

It looks as if the game will be played on the last day of the late September mini heat wave giving those who snapped up all the away allocation of tickets, the perfect opportunity for a couple of days at the coastal resort.

However, injury wise, it is probably the worst time to be taking on a side who are top of the Championship table and who are tipped to make a return to the Premier League under their new manager Scott Parker.

The Hatters squad, as we reported earlier – luton-rocked-by-yet-another-injury-blow – has been seriously affected by injures and the starting XI Nathan Jones will name could look a bit disjointed.

That may have had a consequence on our pre-match poll with, as I type, 53% predicting a Bournemouth win, 23% a draw and only 24% a Luton win.

That negativity is also reflected by the Sky Sports Championship pundit, David Prutton, who in his weekly round-up, is of the opinion that Bournemouth will win the encounter 2-1.

After a poor start with his predictions, relating to Luton Town, Prutton has judged the last two games correctly, getting the score right for the trip to Bristol City and the result correct against Swansea City.

Hopefully, the lads that are selected can dig deep, do the Town proud and get some kind of result against all the odds.
