While we all await for the next announcement, regarding a new signing, we have to accept that, as the transfer window approaches, there may be several departures.
Now these departures may be on a loan basis or permanent, depending on what plans the club has for those staff on the fringes of the first team squad.
Yesterday, the Official Site, confirmed that Elliot Thorpe has joined the League One side, Shrewsbury Town, on a season-long loan.
The former Tottenham Hotspur youngster, now 22-years-old, has struggled to make an impact at Kenilworth Road, making just six appearances since joining Luton Town two years ago.
Last season, his loan spell with Burton Albion was cut short due to Elliot not being given enough game time.
Hopefully, while with Shrewsbury Town, he will be given the opportunity to play more often and his game will progress, but, at 22-years-of-age, this season could be crucial for the youngster.
If he fails to make the desired progress, he could find himself moving on permanenly next season, especially if competition for midfield places remains as competitive as it currently is.
The consensus of opinion, on social media, is that it is a good move:
Good luck Elliot. Gonna be seeing you in a Town shirt in the future for sure.

Hopefully we've got him a loan where he might get some minutes! Been here 2 years and feel like he's barely played any football so fingers crossed for him🤞

good move for elliott. hope he gets thegame time he needs. it tickled me to see that luton would run a mile to sign pogba. every club in the prem would also run a mile from that idiot.COYH.
Hope this works out for elliot, talking about loans if we can’t get nakamura permanently why not try for a loan again love to see him back at the Kenny. Coyh
Still time to prove me wrong but this transfer window has left me totally underwhelmed. When players choose a championship side over hatters you realise how unattractive a proposition we are. The chairman seems determined to use the promotion cash on his stadium and not players that might give us a chance of staying up.
Bill to be fair begovic went to QPR for the money no other reason he’s at the end of his days an looked for one last big payment. As for others clubs are trying to hold us to ransom for inflated prices. So far it looks like we’ve coughed up over £10 millions for players broke our record transfer twice. And remember we haven’t got £170,000,000 millions in the bank yet it’s over 3 yes if relegated!!!! So if you don’t want power court built asap then the club can pay more now. Also we can find ourselves with a black financial hole an back in non league is that what you want ?
Power Court has always been mooted as 2026 since the date was revised due to covid. As far as I am aware it was never based on being subject to attaining Premier status. Has this changed? I think far to many people are willing to accept relegation before we even kick a ball. No wonder no one wants to sign for us.
I’m predicting religation bill just pointed out that we don’t have £170million or maybe half that yet..But clubs are trying to inflate prices because we are premier.an players want rediculace wages so what would your solution be to ensure survival in the prem an get power court built? We are fans an all want Paul pogba an dea in our team but let’s be realistic.
As things stand it’s obvious that those aged 20 to 23 will be loaned out or sold as they have no path to the first team any longer. This age group is badly served at the club an by the council due to a lack of a league to play in an the poor performance of many picked under the present recruitment team adebayo being the only success story so far. I’ve said it many times our youth set up is failing us.And I stand by that
That should have read I’m not predicting religation.
