Luton Town – Well That Was Not In The Script

At a critical stage of the season with Luton Town lurking, but not languishing, in the relegation places, we appear to be having an injury crisis.

Ahead of the 16:30 kick-off against Manchester United, Elijah Adebayo felt that his hamstring was too tight to risk over the course of the game and our top-scorer looks set for a spell on the sidelines.

Also, the club recently announced that one of our summer signings, Jacob Brown, will also be sidelined for a lengthy period of time with a knee cartilage problem and has, subsequently, has an operation.

The absence of the duo leaves the Hatters a little light up-front with only Carlton Morris and Cauley Woodrow available for selection.

Of course, Rob Edwards could spring a surprise and play somebody else out of position or does the possibility exist to recall Joe Taylor from his loan spell at Lincoln City?

Naturally, the absence of Adebayor and Brown raises the question as to whether the Hatters should have brought in a recognised striker, in the January transfer window, but, as we all know, hindsight is a wonderful thing.

All we can do is hope that Morris continues his recent run of scoring form and that the resilience we’ve shown all season will see us through this particular piece of unfortunate luck.

  • BG says:

Morris and Woodrow know each other well from their Barnsley days so hopefully they can start forming a good partnership. Its a good opportunity for Woodrow to show that he can cut it in the PL.

Tough one tonight even with Liverpool’s injury problems. We must cut out the silly defensive errors and keep their goal count down.

Still believe we can cause more major shocks and if tonight’s the night I’ll be banging by head off the ceiling! COYH

Personally I’d have Morris an Woodrow up front an play berry in the hole drop Chong my opinion.

  • Chris winter says:

Wish we had kept Taylor in the window I still think he could have been a good replacement as he’s different.

  • Chris Peacock says:

Drop Chong for Berry???? Berry not really had a chance but he’s not a premier league player. Clarke has been the biggest let down this season, just miles off it and never a Premier league player. Thought Chong was excellent against Man U.
Agreed on the striker front, we should definitely of bought Taylor or the lad at Barnsley back in. Hope it doesn’t bite us on the bum.
