Luton Town – The Great Striker Question Answered

|
Image for Luton Town – The Great Striker Question Answered

With 14 games played in our first season in the Premier League, Luton Town have scored just 13 goals, less than one a game.

In the last two games, against Crystal Palace and Brentford, we’ve managed 3 goals, 2 of which were scored by Jacob Brown.

Our main striker, Carlton Morris, has scored 3 times this season but has not got on the scoresheet for quite a while.

Following the loss to Brentford, one communication I received inferred that maybe, following his 2 goals in his last 2 games, it might be time to rest Morris and start with Brown.

Naturally, being inquisitive, I wanted to know if it was a thought that was shared by our readership.

Putting the question to a poll, entitled – Who Would You Start With? – the results proved to be interesting.

Opinion was evenly split with 23% opting for Jacob Brown and 22% opting for Carlton Morris.

However, what surprised me was that the remaining 55% voted for the third option of playing them both!

Could that be the way forward?

Could the time be approaching whereby we have to go on the front foot and try to push teams back or would that leave us open to the counter-attack so many Premier League teams are very good at?

don’t matter what strikers you start, they have got to be supplied with the ball. my choice would be ogbene and brown. good to see pereira score a couple of goals, and mc.atee scoring, and taylor, seems like we have an abundance of strikers. wonder what young defender we could ask to step up? Is today the day to start with Elijah? Raya has a bit of the Dracula about him where crosses are concerned and going really direct may be the answer. Elijah’s aerial power could make it interesting. Morris has had to put in so many yards in the early part of the gamse and has not had the benefit of playing the last 30 minutes when things become more open.

I don’t think we can afford to press Arsenal too high as they are likely to play straight through us. Pressing Raya at the right time might be worth it.

Morris is isolated on his own upfront play brown and ogbena take the fame to them think we could cause a surprise tonight

Morris is number one just suffering from lack of proper support. As for the rest still feel we need something more than they give.just my opinion. As for the loanee brigade I feel Taylor should be brought back and given the chance.
