With Saturday, and the return of Premier League action still some way off, I thought I’d continue with revisiting another of a former series.

Over the weekend, I ran the following article – the-a-xi-revisited – where, four years after the original publishing, I compiled a starting XI of those who have played for Luton Town who have surnames which begin with the letter ‘A’.

Today, I thought I’d move on to the letter ‘B’ with, once again, the original article – the-b-xi – being published back in April 2020.

The original article, if you click on the link, was different to the others as it contained two starting XI’s, one compiled by me and one compiled by Chris Winter, as can be seen below:

My XI

• Keith Barber
• Steve Buckley
• Leon Barnett
• Terry Branston
• Tim Breaker
• Luke Berry
• Ahmet Brkovic
• Kingsley Black
• Phil Boersma
• Vivian Busby
• Barry Butlin

And the XI Chris Winter selected:

• Ron Baynham
• Jack Bannister
• Terry Branston
• Emerson Boyce
• Tim Breaker
• Alan Birchenall
• Billy Bingham
• Kingsley Black
• Phil Boersma
• Barry Butlin
• Ian Buxton

But, with the intention of producing a definitive XI, we also need to take into account those players, who have joined the club since the original date of April 2020, namely:

• Ross Barkley
• Reece Burke
• Amari’i Bell
• Jacob Brown
• Sonny Bradley

Therefore after much deliberation, I’ve come up with the following XI:

• Ron Baynham
• Steve Buckley
• Terry Branston
• Reece Burke
• Tim Breaker
• Billy Bingham
• Ross Barkley
• Kingsley Black
• Phil Boersma
• Barry Butlin
• Viv Busby

Now, I’m under no illusions that you, our readership, may have differing views, if so, please feel free to argue your case in the comment facility beneath this article.
