It’s the morning after the night before and once again we’ve pushed a top-team all the way but just failed to get a result.

So far this season, the Hatters have taken on Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal and now Manchester City and in all four games we haven’t looked out of our depth.

Yesterday, against Manchester City, the team fought with all their might and actually led the treble winners at half-time, but City, in the second half went through the gears and showed their class, although it could be said that both of their goals could be attributed to poor defending.

Sadly, the result sees the Hatters occupying one of the three relegation places and with Everton despite their 10-point deduction, climbing the table, it is now looking as if, if we are to escape the drop, we need to be targeting the likes of Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace, both of whom are dropping down the table.

Unfortunately, while we continue to drop points, the gap between safety and relegation is growing, it now stands at four points, a considerable amount when you consider the Hatters have only won two games all season.

Next weekend, Luton Town trael to the south coast, to take on a Bournemouth side who have hit a fine run of form, culminating in a 3-0 win at Old Trafford, on Saturday. Is it a game the Hatters, at the Vitality Stadium, must get something from? I believe it is!
