Yesterday, speculation was rife that the signing of the Newcastle United midfielder, Isaac Hayden, was moving closer to becoming a Hatters player.
The deal, as reported by the Daily Mail, this morning, has moved closer with Hayden having undergone a medical, with the Hatters, yesterday.
If the deal does go ahead then the signing of Hayden, on loan, will complete the quota of players we are allowed to have on loan.
But, although he appears to have the pedigree to become an asset, having played for England at all levels apart from a full cap, I’m a little worried.
Last season, while on loan with Norwich City, Hayden made just 12 league appearances, with his loan spell littered with injuries.
Now, hopefully, the player has got over his injury concerns but if he is to be our last loan signing, are we taking something of a risk?

Luton Town – The Great Rule Change Debate
Personally I don’t think we should have wasted it on another midfielder. I hope we are going to be buying a forward because if not we can’t get a loan in. Or can we ? If they come from abroad I don’t know what the rules are exactly. Does anyone know?
if all our new players can’t seem to gel, why add another one. would love to have seen how fred would have performed in the prem, seems to be enjoying his time at rotherham. expect us fickle fans are thinking has R.E. got a game plan etc..you got to give it time. please play doughty on the left, not the right. Could be wrong, but I don’t see how he improves us, especially when we have Campbell sitting on the bench every week.
See the Hayden loan has fallen through some claim he failed medical some we switch to holding. Still think we should be looking for a striker first !!!
Perhaps they looked at his fitness record from last season!
