A Different Slant On A Controversial Topic

Recently, I’ve watched a lot of football on television, spread across many channels.

On occasion, I’ve sat through three consecutive matches, just chilling out and enjoying the fare on offer.

Naturally, as the editor of this site, I’ve also trawled through social media trying to pick up subject matter for an article.

One predominant subject that seems to be a common feature among posters, with arguments being provided by both sides, is that of commentators and their associated pundits.

Now I’m not intending to start a full scale woke war, I’ve my own views on the subject matter and I don’t intend to share them, as I’m sure you do.

But, sat watching Amazon Prime’s coverage of Premier League football I was impressed by a facility they advertise.

With a game in its infancy, or indeed about to start, they provide details on how you can watch the game with just the stadium noise, thereby deleting the commentary and the asociated comments.

Now, in Sky Sports early days, I can recall a similar feature being available, by also selecting an option, a feature I believe has long since disappeared.

Wouldn’t it be marvellous if all channels, when it comes to sport, provide this option?

Just think, such an option would allow one Joey Barton, who has been quick to have his say on ‘box-ticking’ to watch a game without blowing the odd fuse or two!
