The fine tuning of the Hatters squad continued yesterday with the release of a midfielder.
Not allocated a squad number, Luton announced, via their website – Luke Freeman Departs.
That 31-year-old had, by mutual consent, left the club.
Freeman, now a free agent, is able to search for a club to continue his professional career without the hindrance of a transfer fee having to be negotiated.
The former Arsenal player, arrived at Kenilworth Road in the summer of 2022, on a free transfer, signed by Nathan Jones.
The midfielder settled into the squad well and during the first half, of what was to become a promotion winning season, made 26 appearances, hitting the net on 2 occasions.
The second half of the season saw Luke troubled by injury and, when fit, he couldn’t hold down a regular place under the stewardship of Rob Edwards.
It’ll certainly be interesting to see where Luke chooses to continue his career, possibly at a Championship club, but I’m sure you’ll join me in wishing him every success and, if he ever returns in an opposition shirt, I’m sure he’ll get a decent reception.
