This Sunday the Hatters take a break from Premier League football when they start their 2024 FA Cup campaign with a home tie against Bolton Wanderers.

Yesterday, we started our build-up to the tie, with an article entitled – they-played-for-both-revisited-bolton-wanderers.

Today, I thought I’d continue our build-up with a look at the recent form of Bolton Wanderers.

Bolton currently sit in second place in the League One table, two points behind the leaders, Portsmouth, but with a game in hand.

In the 24 games they have played so far they have won 16, drawn 3 and lost 5 amassing 51 points.

The Trotters are currently on a run of 4 consecutive wins, the latest of which being a 1-0 home victory against Burton Albion.

In those 24 games they have scored 45 goals with only Peterborough United (50) and Barnsley (46) scoring more.

Defensively, they have conceded 24 with only Portsmouth (20) and Derby County (23) having conceded less.

When it comes to a top-scorer, look no further than Dion Charles who already has 15 goals to his name, could he be a January transfer window target for a Championship club?

Clearly, Bolton present a problem, to Luton Town, when it comes to the Hatters fulfilling their ambitions to qualify for the 4th round, hopefully Rob Edwards will select a strong starting XI otherwise we could become the victims of a giant-killing!
