Luton Town – Hylton, MacDonald, Morris, Brown

Following the disappointing result, against Brentford, yesterday, I buried my head in social media to try and ease the anguish.

Whilst doing so, I stumbled upon a post, I’m not sure who posted it, that got me thinking.

It seems that, this weekend, back in 2018, Danny Hylton made his 100th appearance for the Hatters in a 1-0 win over Bury in an FA Cup tie.

Seemingly, in scoring the winner, Danny had netted 55 times for the Hatters but what got me thinking was that, in doing so, Danny had matched the achievement of a certain Malcolm MacDonald who, during his time at Kenilworth Road, also scored 55 goals in his first 100 appearances.

A remarkable coincidence methinks!

But, continuing my social media indulgence further, I stumbled upon the inference that one poster was questioning whether Jacob Brown, following his goal yesterday, his second in two games, should, if Luton Town persist with starting with just the one striker, be selected ahead of the excellent Carlton Morris.

Personally, I cannot, at the moment, see it happening, but what are your current views on this teasing suggestion?

As I said weeks ago playing Morris alone was going to cause problems. Now I don’t know if all the effort is causing burnout but I am being proved right in that he’s suffering being alone up front.

Need the team thst finished Saturday to start Tuesday except I would start with Barclay and Clark. I would play Adabayo and Brown.

  • Bill says:

I would rest Morris for a spell, he’s not up to the Prem. I’m not a fan of Adabayo but perhaps not being picked regularly has given him something to prove. I feel we’ve nothing to lose giving him a chance even if it’s just to put him out there for the January window.

We’ve got to do something, Saturday was dire.
