So 2024 and the month of January is upon us and it is time to take a quick look back at December 2023.
As November came to an end, we ran our usual poll asking you to predict how December 2023 would turn out points wise, with our poll entitled:
How Many Points Will Luton Town Earn In December?
It was a hard task to predict with the Hatters facing a tough month with games against:
• Brentford (a)
• Arsenal (h)
• Manchester City (h)
• Newcastle United (h)
• Sheffield United (a)
• Chelsea (h)
Six tough games, three of them against sides who finished in the top four last season.
As for the options, I gave the following for you to choose:
• 0-6 points
• 7-12 points
• 13 and above.
As it turned out the Hatters achieved a commendable 6 points, an option 47% went for, but it should never be forgotten how hard we pushed the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City.
And as for the Chelsea fixture, I’m sure everybody, in years to come, will recall how we nearly claimed a point, with a remarkable comeback after being 3-0 down.
In fact the only fixture we didn’t do ourselves justice in was the trip to Brentford and, even then, we came close to snatching something from the game.
Now it is a new month, let’s see if the Hatters can keep their recent momentum going.
