With three pre-season friendly fixtures announced, so far, Ipswich Town, Sheffield Wednesday and Wolverhampton Wanderers, I did a quick fact finding check.
As I thought, I hadn’t run one of our familiar ‘They Played For Both’ series, relating to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Therefore, with the expected deluge of Premier League articles to scribe, on the horizon, I thought I’d correct the anomaly.
Digging deep into the old memory banks and digging deep into the internet, I came up with the following XI:
• Goalkeeper – Ian Feuer
• Defender – Kevin Foley
• Defender – Graham Rodger
• Defender – Rob Edwards
• Defender – Bobby Thompson
• Midfield – Mark Burke
• Midfield – Andy King
• Midfield – Carlos Edwards
• Midfield – Michael McIndoe
• Striker – Jesse Pye
• Striker – Steve Claridge
• Substitute – Michael Small,
As can be seen there are some familiar names there, including our current gaffer, Rob Edwards, who fits the criteria having played for Wolves and managed Luton Town.
Among the others are Kevin Foley who only, just recently, returned to Luton Town in a coaching capacity.
And I just have to mention Carlos Edwards who, as reported by Vital Luton Town – longevity-is-the-name-of-the-game – is still playing the game at the age of 44.
Also in the starting XI is one – Jesse Pye – who we recently featured in our ongoing legends series.
But, aside from Marlon Beresford and Andy Pettersen, are there any other players you can think of who fit the criteria?
If so, please feel free to drop their names into the comment facility beneath this article.
