Another away trip beckons for the Hatters, with St Andrews the home of Birmingham City being the destination.

Back in February 2021, Birmingham City featured in our – Played For Both – series.

When, after much deliberation, I came up with the following starting XI (plus substitute):

Goalkeeper – Les Sealey

Defender – Bobby Thompson
Defender – Curtis Davies
Defender – Matthew Upson
Defender – Matt Jackson

Midfield – Ollie Lee
Midfield – Bruce Rioch
Midfield – David Preece

Striker – Mike Newell
Striker – Mick Harford
Striker – Steve Claridge

Substitute – Don Givens

After asking for your assistance in providing the names of those who also suited the qualifying criteria, the following players were nominated:

• Isaac Vassell
• Bob Hatton

• Rowan Vine
• Syd Owen

After much deliberation, I’ve decided to modify the chosen starting XI (plus substitute) and it now looks like thus:
