Luton – The Ice Cool Man Continues To Impress

In recent weeks, it is fair to say that Simon Sluga has shown just how good a goalkeeper he is.

Our Croatian international stopper continues to produce moments of magic that ensure points are not dropped.

Yesterday, away to Preston North End, Sluga produced a superb late save to deny the Preston North End player, Sean Maguire.

All this is in stark contrast to Sluga’s first few months between the posts when Luton Towns record buy looked to have been an error of judgement.

But, having been taken out of the firing line, Sluga came back into the starting XI and has never looked back.

Trawling social media last night, I came across the following post that made perfect sense:

That post certainly has hit the nail firmly on the head.

I know when I worked abroad, it may have only been for a few months, but I felt alienated in my surroundings, especially away from the workplace, perhaps it was the same for Sluga.

But, as well as the three points the team earned, at Deepdale, with a disciplined performance, Sluga, like most goalkeepers, would have been please with the clean sheet, and deserves the accolades coming his way via social media:

Coming back from where he was in the early stages of last season shows the mettle of the guy and my only fear is that, come the summer, his consistently good performances could see the Hatters receive an offer they cannot afford to turn down.

But, as a long-term Luton fan, that is, I am afraid, par for the course!

Everybody now knows the reason for slugs poor start. The fault started with the manager who I warned was going to be a disaster. Sadly as you say mh the Turkish interest is still there an if njs interest is to be believed it maybe that he could go in the summer an Walton returned. I hope that doesn’t happen personally as I feel that would be a retrograde step.
