Last weekend, when Luton played Sheffield United, keen-eyed supporters may have seen Danny Hylton being put through his paces on the pitch, ahead of the game.
Hylton was one of those players that many tipped, including myself, to be a probable departure during the summer transfer window.
However, it was not to be, with the injury Danny is currently recovering from, preventing clubs from negotiating a loan or a purchase of the player.
After all, would you sign somebody who has yet to prove his fitness?
But, returning to the social media traffic, posted on transfer deadline day, it would appear that there are mixed feelings when it comes to the future of a striker that has served us well during his time with the club.
Some I discovered, are appreciative of what Danny has done for the club and want to see him given the chance, once again, to prove his worth, as the posts below illustrate:
Yet to have a decent run in the Championship for various reasons . Would love Hylts to be given a chance to show he can still do it .

I'd love to hear the "super danny hylton"chant at least one more time. He was the first player whose name i got on the back of my shirt!

But others, do not see it that way and feel that the club would be best served by moving the striker on:
love the man but if he was struggling to get into our team in 19/20 had chances then had a few last season and 100% cant get in this season hes had his chance Love Super Danny Hylton but hes just a average L1 striker at best could probably scrape about 10 goals

Sometimes it's best to just let it goโฆ.Danny's been brilliant for us in our climb out of L2, embodies so much of the Luton 'character', but he's out of his depth now. I salute him, but the king is deadโฆ.๐งก๐ฉ๐

Too injury prone now

Hopefully to play at another club, he is not going to cut it for us in the championship is he.

Personally, I feel that unless Danny can prove his worth to the side before the January transfer window opens, his Hatters career could soon be coming to an end.
But is that a view you concur with?
