Luton Support Want The Defence To Be Strengthened

Last week, ahead of the festive celebrations, I posted what many felt to be a very relevant poll.

With the January Transfer window set to open in 4 days, the poll simply read:

January Transfer Window – Most Important Position To Strengthen

And I provided three options:

• Defence
• Midfield
• Attack

Now, I was going to let the poll run for a couple of more days, but it had become blatantly obvious how it was going to end.

It appears that, the majority of those voting, 88%, feel that Rob Edwards needs to concentrate on the defence compared to the 8% who opted for the midfield and the 4% who voted for the attack.

This season, the Hatters defence has been hit by injuries and although Tom Lockyer has been superb, with Reece Burke being injured and Gabriel Osho’s form being hit and miss, whoever has been in charge has had to, sometimes, play Dan Potts and Amari’i Bell, out of position.

But just who should Rob Edwards and his backroom team target?

Already, Michael Hector has had an unsuccessful trial with the club, leaving a target to find.

The Hatters did receive a substantial sum, from Southampton, after they signed Nathan Jones, so, maybe, it is time to splash some of that cash, hopefully in the early stages of the transfer window rather than a deadline day splurge.
