In the build-up to what looked to be a difficult looking fixture, away to Swansea City, I intimated I would be happy with a point.
I said that anything else would be a bonus, but you may also recall that after doing so well against the top teams we might struggle against the teams below us.
But those fears were never realised as the Hatters, are weathering an early storm, produced an organised, workmanlike display that saw them, courtesy of a neat first-time finish from Harry Cornick, on as a second-half substitute, take all three points.
The win lifts Luton into 9th place in the Championship table and if the Hatters can win their game in and they will climb into a play-off place.
Itβs no wonder that Nathan Jones had a smile on his face when the final whistle blew and in his post-match interview, as reported by The BBC, he remarked:
“It’s a massive win, Swansea are such a tough side to play against, so hard to get the ball back against.
“The tactical awareness was wonderful. We were strong, aggressive, disciplined and clinical.
“Game-changers came on and won us the game, so it was a complete away performance.
“To come here and win 1-0 is wonderful. I loved our performance tonight.”
And so did those who journeyed to South Wales, as well as those who followed the action from home.
Naturally, social media was full of praise for the boys following the win:
Back to back super defensive displays, players willing to die for the shirt. So committed to the cause, incredible COYH

Indeed, they do and, apart from that reverse away to Sheffield United, Luton are on a fine run of form and results, long may it continue.
Next up are Cambridge United as Luton look to make the 5th round of the FA Cup, bring it on I say.

Luton β Who Would Be A Manager?
what a fantastic win at swansea. great goal by cornick. swansea should have scored at least 2 goals last night, but luck was with us,plus determined defending. lets hope for a bit more luck coming our way.COYH.
We could have been 2 up in the 1st 10 mins….
thought we could easily have been 3 up at HT with lots of good chances coming from our bright start, especially with the high press causing them lots of problems as they continuined to try and play out from the back. Swansea reguarly have the lions share of possesion in games but their nice neat, passing game counts for nothing if do nothing with it in the final 3rd as proven by their league position.
Pellys energy levels were outstanding, even at the death he went on lung busting charges up the pitch trying to alleviate the pressure as they searched for an undeserved leveller. Osho who’s had to wait patiently for his chance is looking a very good signing indeed, some of his last ditch blocks and tackles were vital last night.
The quality and options we have at the back is top rank and as good as any other team above us in league.
Lastly, I remember reading comments about Cornick’s failure to put his chances way and fans correctly saying that if he could finish he wouldn’t be playing for us, well guess what, he can finish and he is playing for us π
Momentum is massive in football and we’ve got that in buckets loads at the moment.
