Luton – Summer Signing Set To Return This Weekend

Back in the summer, when Nathan Jones was still in charge, the Hatters made a raft of signings.

For the second successive summer transfer window, Nathan shuffled his pack.

One of the many signings was Cauley Woodrow, from Barnsley.

For Cauley, his signing saw a return to the club where it all began.

But Cauley’s return has not gone to plan.

For some strange reason, Nathan chose to play Woodrow as an attacking midfielder, instead of a striker, a role he is more familiar with.

Indeed, in his new role, Cauley was to make just 7 Championship appearances, with only 2 of those from the start and has yet to hit the net.

However, Cauley has been missing from the first team squad recently, due to injury, but, according to Luton Today, the 28-year-old is available for selection with our referenced source carrying some enthusiastic comments, from Rob Edwards, on his availability, with the new gaffer remarking:

“He’s a really good footballer first and foremost, but I do think he’s a goal threat.

“He’s a fantastic finisher, but he’s really, really talented.

“He can drop into certain spaces and he can create as well as score and be on the end of stuff, so I think he’s going to give us something quite unique.

“I’m really looking forward to getting him back amongst it as I think he’s really talented footballer.”

So, are we to take it that Woodrow could well feature on Sunday and if so, will he be pushed further forward than he has been so far this season?

But, if he is to feature, who do you see making way for the striker who was so prolific during his time at Barnsley?

I think if Edwards wants to start him. Personally I don’t think he will start. Then obviously we have to try to rekindle his partnership with Morris an ade has to go.

Also as I said in a previous post who will lose out if he wants more creativity in open play? I think it’s something to be weary of at this time.

that’s very welcome news about Cauley especially upon hearing Lansbury is now out for the foreseeable future, he’ll be a big miss, fans fav Pelly to steady the ship lol
