Luton Town surprised plenty in the wider world of football with our performances in the Championship in the 2022/23 campaign, and having finished third in the table and booked our place in the Play Offs, we secured promotion into the Premier League via the Wembley route.

For more long standing fans of the Kenilworth Road outfit, it was the perfect way to cap our long journey back from the dark days that saw us relegated to the Conference Premier back in 2009/10 and we clearly mean business under manager Rob Edwards and we have been pretty busy in the summer transfer market so far, bringing in quite a few players, not least Aston Villa midfielder Marvelous Nakamba who was key to our promotion success last season during his loan spell. For those fans who like a small flutter, Lottoland’s sports betting guide could be a friend in helping you to find more favourable odds.

As we continue our preparations for the big kick off against Brighton and Hove Albion on August 12, we have just seen another new arrival as well – 30 year old Belgian goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski, who makes the move from Blackburn Rovers.

He joins officially for an undisclosed fee and the experienced stopper (and Blackburn’s Player of the Season in his first year with them) becomes our seventh signing of the summer, and he brings with him some great experience. Since joining the Ewood Park side from Gent back in 2020, he had made 118 appearances for them in the time since, and he comes in with three league titles to his name, from earlier spells with FC Copenhagen and Anderlecht. Whilst he is yet to feature for his country, he has been called up to the Belgian squad on a number of occasions, he has just been an unused substitute.

Luton have not stated the contract length of his new deal with us, but our gaffer is clearly pleased with the signing.

“It’s an area which is one of, if not the, most important areas on the pitch and a lot of work has been done to get the deal, and that goalkeeper position, over the line. He’s a great person and he’s a really good proactive goalkeeper, which at this level you’re going to need. He’s sharp, he makes good saves and is alert in one-on-ones situations. Thomas not only brings us a really proactive level of goalkeeping but also he’s an international footballer with Belgium so he brings that level of experience too.”

Speaking for himself, our new stopper was looking forward to finally getting the opportunity to test himself in the English top flight, commenting.

“I’m delighted to be here and looking forward to the opportunity. The Premier League is the best league in the world, to play in the Premier League is a dream for every footballer and it’s unbelievable to be here. Knowing Luton’s story and playing against them, it’s a well organised team. You can see the togetherness on the pitch, I’ve spoke many times to Amari’i Bell who was my teammate at Blackburn and he called it home, so it gave me a great feeling about the club.”

All eyes to Saturday’s big kick off, and we will simply have to see if anyone else arrives over the next couple of days.
