With third place already secured, courtesy of Middlesbrough losing at Rotherham, Luton Town had nothing to play for, at Blackburn, other than pride.
Ahead of the kick-of, Rob Edwards had mentioned the need, with the play-offs approaching, to keep the momentum going and extend the unbeaten run.
And that is exactly what the Hatters did.
With Blackburn needing to get a result to keep their own play-off hopes alive, after a dull first half, Luton took the game by the scruff of the neck, in the second half, with Tom Lockyer scoring with a header.
It looked as if the three points were coming our way until some slack marking, probably caused by making too any substitutions, allowed Blackburn a late equaliser.
It wasn’t the best of performances from the Hatters but Edward’s team still got a result that extends the gap between themselves and fourth placed Middlesbrough.
Scouring social media, I’ve found a mixture of opinions relating to the game, the first, from a non-Hatter isn’t very complimentary:
That’s now 2 games in a row you’ve been dominated and somehow come away with something. Luck will run out soon 👍🏻

Luck! Think again, we call it organisation and hard work.
But another posting, this time from a Hatter, makes far more sense:
Not a bad result in the end. No injuries, hardly out of 1st gear all game and unbeaten run still going.

Exactly!
Continuing, ahead of the game we had questioned whether Edwards might rest key players, as it turned out he only made two changes, from the Middlesbrough game, with Luke Berry and Jordan Clark being given starts, and it appeared we picked up no fresh injuries:
As long as there are no injuries that is all I care about

But we’ll finish with a posting, from another non-Hatter, that warms the cockles of my heart:
Well done for this season Luton. I hope you make it out of all the rest of them.
P.S. a Premier League season may fund a new stadium 👍🏻
All the best!

Morning mh, let’s be real about last night it gave us a free hit to do as we wanted. First half our passing let us down. Second half we came out an dominated it until the changes.no criticism of that players needed minutes before the play offs so nothing wrong with that.but it was obvious that didn’t do us any favours as it disrupted our flow. Also I think it proves that we don’t have a replacement at the club for nakamba an that means we must play him every minute of the play offs if not injured . With osho out rea on loan not up to it an Lansbury unreliable if Campbell was supposed to be his replacement got dragged forward to often.that said on an off night Blackburn struggled to beat us an I fear my nightmare of having to play Millwall is coming true.
Millwall, has an ominous tone about it but we can beat them!
As long as it doesn’t go to pens.thats my biggest concern.
little bit of luck, but plenty of grit and determination. blackburn had very slick passing and posession, but that don’t win games. there fans need to get behind there team a bit more. no injuries i hope, lets move on. would like to see osho and burke in defence again. COYH.
