With it being an FA Cup weekend, I reckon there is the likelihood that Nathan Jones may make a few changes to his starting XI, against Cambridge United.

But the big question is whether we are going to see a first start for Elliott Thorpe.

Signed on a free transfer, back in September, after he chose to leave Tottenham Hotspur, Thorpe has yet to make his full debut,

So far, he has had to make do with a few outings for the development squad.

I’m not quite sure how the chit-chat that precedes somebody signing on the bottom line goes, but I wonder if Nathan enlightened the lad when it came to when he might get a chance in the first team?

At 21-years-of-age, time is on Thorpe’s side but, with the FA Cup not considered to be as much as a priority as the Championship, and with Luton facing League One opposition, is this not a golden opportunity for Thorpe to be given a run out?

Ahead of the game, as reported by Luton Today, the gaffer has spoken about Thorpe, remarking:

“We believe he’s ready so let’s see if he makes the squad, then he could get an opportunity.

“He’s been good, we brought him in as a player we believe has a certain ability.”

Nathan’s isn’t giving much away there, is he?

I’d hate to play poker with the gaffer, he certainly keeps his cards close to his chest.

But what are tour opinions, is the cup tie, against Cambridge United, the perfect opportunity to blood the youngster?
