Sat watching the highly entertaining Soccer Saturday, hosted by the excellent Jeff Stelling, one player appeared to be having a whale of a time.

With that lot up the road, MK Dons, looking to gate-crash the Championship, it was hard to ignore the exploits of Scott Twine who scored 4 goals in MK Dons 5-0 win away to Plymouth Argyle.

The win wasn’t enough to grant MK Dons automatic promotion, but they are in the play-offs.

But every time the name of Scott Twine was mentioned, I couldn’t help but reflect on the events of last April/May/June.

During that period, Twine, then on the books of Swindon Town, was linked with a move to Kenilworth Road – luton-linked-with-emerging-star.

But the gossip that followed the speculation shed doubt on whether Twine wanted to leave Swindon or whether he felt he was ready to make the leap to the second tier of English football.

As it turned out, Twine opted to move to League One MK Dons – luton-miss-out-on-signing-emerging-star.

Since joining MK Dons, Twine has scored on 20 occasions this season and at the age of 22 looks to be headed for great things.

However, in missing out, did the Hatters fail to net that player we’re constantly harking on about, somebody who could score as regularly as Elijah Adebayo and provide that cutting edge we’ve sometimes lacked?

Your thoughts please.
