Earlier this week, the Hatter signed the Wycombe Wanderers player, Fred Oynedinma, it now looks as if a second signing might not be far away.
According to The Daily Mail, the Hatters are leading the race to sign Reece Burke from Hull City.
Burke, a centre-back, is 24-years-of-age and is a product of the famed West Ham Youth Academy.
He joined Hull City in 2018 and is available on a free transfer with his current deal on the verge of expiring.
Several other clubs, including Bristol City, Cardiff City, Millwall and Derby County, have also expressed an interest in the player, but our referenced source is convinced Luton are in the prime position to sign a player who was a prominent member of a Hull City side that were League One champions last season.
If that is the case, then I would say that Burke could well be the player to replace the Matty Pearson who left the club last week.
If the deal does go through, then Burke could be a signing that enables Kal Naismith to move into midfield and become the Hatters midfield enforcer.
It might still only be May, but this potential signing shows Luton mean to get their transfer dealings done early this season ahead of what could be an exciting campaign come August.
Recruiting Reece Burke certainly gets my seal of approval but how about you?
