Luton – No One Likes Watford

|

We are at the time of the year, with the 2020/2021 season completed, where the PFA hand out their array of awards.

The one I find interesting relates to those chosen for the divisional team of the year the players vote for.

Now, to be brutally honest, I did not expect any of our own squad to be nominated, as the chosen XI is normally formed from those sides that earned promotion.

And viewing the chosen XI, as published by The BBC, that has proven to be the case for the 2020/2021 season with the majority of the XI coming from Norwich City and Brentford.

However, it is great to see individuals selected from the likes of Reading and Blackburn Rovers, deserved recognition for the work put in this season.

The XI selected can be viewed below:

• Krul (Norwich City)
• Henry (Brentford)
• Pinnock (Brentford)
• Hanley (Norwich City)
• Aarons (Norwich City)
• Olise (Reading)
• Skipp (Norwich City)
• Buendia (Norwich City)
• Pukki (Norwich City)
• Toney (Brentford)
• Armstrong (Blackburn Rovers)

Of the XI selected, it is great to see Max Aarons make the list as Max learned his trade with the Hatters from 2009-2014 before moving to Carrow Road.

But one thing immediately struck me about the XI selected, it does not contain a single representative from the team that finished second in the Championship table – Watford!

It is not just us, but it appears no one likes Watford or is it just my biased opinion?

In 2002 Luton Scum invaded the pitch to fight the family terrace,What a bunch of losers.
    Nick Owen what a joker.

Little old Luton hey, beat us by a massive 1-0 at the toilet and all those millions of pounds spent couldn’t beat us at Kenilworth Road.
I can’t wait for the golden shower to be relegated back into the Championship. We will still be here waiting.

Oh dear, this seems to have descended into complete nonsense. Obviously luton are way, way inferior by every relevant measure. That doesn’t mean to say their fans are inferior, although several have done a convincing job on here. I’m sure there are some decent ones, although I don’t know any. It’s all bravado and “you are scared of us”. blah blah. Football started moving on 30 years ago. luton didn’t. Good lord, if I saw a group of luton fans, easily identifiable through their apparel preference of cheap loungewear and their poorly maintained teeth, I’d certainly makea a retreat for fear of catching something.

Watford may or may not stay up, but we stayed up 5 seasons in a row last time. If we come back down, of course we hope luton are still in the championship but I suspect luton are more likely to go down than they are to go up. It’s great that luton get their occasional moment in the spotlight. It really is an awful stadium and an absolutely useless pitch. Where’s the kohler dome? Your one chance of modernising dog kennel road in the last 30 years? Oh, that’s right, your chairman saw sense and bailed. His house was petrol bombed.

So come on, hold a mirror up to yourselves. It’s time to move on luton, you are stuck in the very distant past.

How funny was the Watford fan who chucked the smoke bomb into your shi t hole of a ground.
