Luton Linked With Familiar Midfield Target

With the January transfer window now officially open, I’m expecting a trickle of rumours rather than a flurry.

In fact, I can’t see Luton bringing in more than the odd player or two unless others are moved on.

This morning (Wednesday), the media are reporting that the Hatters may be looking to resurrect their interest in a former target.

According to The Newcastle Chronicle, Elliot Anderson is, once again, attracting interest from several EFL clubs keen to acquire his services.

You may recall that Luton have been linked with the 20-year-old on more than one occasion previously, something Vital Luton Town covered – luton-linked-with-former-midfield-target.

However, Anderson opted to join Bristol Rovers, on loan, with whom he made 21 EFL appearances scoring on 8 occasions.

Since returning to his parent club, Anderson has made several appearances for the Newcastle first team and is highly ranked by their manager, Eddie Howe.

As for the clubs said to be interested, Luton Today implies that Sheffield Wednesday, Preston North End and Luton Town are the interested parties.

With Anderson being so highly ranked, by Eddie Howe, any move would probably only be a loan one and you have to ask yourselves, although Anderson is very talented, would a short-term move affect the development of the likes of Louie Watson who, in my view, didn’t put a foot wrong in the win at Huddersfield Town.

Sat here in the editorial chair, I’d be appreciative of your views on the subject matter in the comment facility beneath this article.

Morning mh, I’m sure that mick and the team an sweet have watched him. But like you I think it’s very unlikely to happen. Does Rob even want him or is this just a club thing.

makes me wonder whether Rob has an influence behind signings or they’re picked by a backroom team!

I imagine in njs days he an the team worked together he told them the type of player he wants the scouts then recommended 2 or 3 and he looked them over. But robs not been here long enough to do much so my thought is its a club thing.

forget the loans, don’t rent, buy. why not use our players we have, there are loads of players begging for a start. why do we pay them but don’t use them. every team that visit us has at least one 18 year old in there team? wonder if mc.cormack thinks they should get a chance. COYH.

instead of incessantly whingeing on a weekly basis about all these youngsters being denied a pathway to the 1st team, perhaps you should contact the club and offer your own expert, player analysis on all these players whom you’ve clearly seen play ……… just think, if it goes well they may offer you a *special role within the Academy

While I don’t dispute your view jimbo. Let’s give Rob time to see what we have got first. Then he’ll stamp his mark on the team.. Also I’m not convinced about some of the loanees yet. Maybe this is due to njs attitude to the younger players or not I don’t know. But give Rob time to sort it out.
