There still remains an air of mystique over the January transfer window dealing that saw Jack Walton move to Luton with Harry Isted moving in the opposite direction, on loan.
I am among the group of many that believe Ethan Horvath, due to cost, will not be remaining at Kenilworth Road, once his season long loan period is complete.
Therefore, it would indicate that the Hatters see Walton as the main rival to James Shea for the number one spot next season.
But what of Harry Isted?
With Matt Macey also out on loan, at Portsmouth, until the end of the season, the Hatters appear to have too many keepers for a balanced squad, next season.
Well one answer, despite the general feeling being is that Isted hasn’t been given a fair crack of the whip at Luton, is that his move to Barnsley could be made permanent.
It is, as revealed on social media posts, a deal that the Barnsley support would welcome:
Deserves a move if he hasn't been getting game time. We will definitely look after him. He looks to be enjoying it here

Bout time you gave us something instead of taking our players for next to nothing 💪

Walton couldn’t lace this lads boots…. Unreal deal for us…. It’s like you’re giving us rewards points for taking our players 🤩

But, and in order to balance the debate, there are still some who still cannot understand why Harry has not been given a decent chance at Luton Town:
Never understood the way we have treated this lad, bringing in last minute loans to cover as if we are desperate for him *not to play*. A couple of times, he must've though "now's my chance surely?" but every time no, out looking for other talent. He's obvious quality, it's weird

Please Rob I'm begging you make him our number 1 keeper he's absolutely quality

So, with Harry having kept 3 clean sheets in 6 games for Barnsley, where do you see this mystique ending?
Is there a career for Harry at Luton or is he now destined to move on?

Personally I feel sure Macey will be shipped out in the summer.i said when he signed not good enough for the championship let him go to Portsmouth he’s found his level. That leaves three keepers.but god alone knows what’s in management mind. We will have to see pre season I think to see if shea’s is going to be able to get his form to pre injured levels.and personally I want isted as number1 now after his performances at Barnsley.
isted has been left out to often. give him a chance or let him go. you will always have macey as a back up plan?????? COYH.
Agree and Harrys kicking is even better than James Sheas. RE give HI a chance!
I have always felt sorry for Harry never given a fair chance at luton , glad it’s going well for him a Barnsley. Get rid of macey and see how shea is over his injury and let Harry have a go for the number one spot. Coyh
I wouldn’t write Matt Macey off just yet, and most certainly James Shea.
Also, perhaps it would be a good idea to proof read before posting. ‘Ethan Walton’
point noted, text correct, not quite 100%, house has been hit with a brutal sickness bug!

I agree Harry Isted has never been given a proper chance and never let us down.
Even the Barnsley supporters think he is better than Walton. Isted. Shea Walton next season?
