Luton – Just Do It Please

Late yesterday, as I stumbled through the mass of football articles available on the internet, I came across one relating to a familiar subject.

The subject being the introduction of safe-standing.

It seems that the authorities, as reported by Luton Today are willing to trial safe-standing areas from January with a view to legalising them if they prove to be a success.

Now some Premier League clubs have already grasped the bull by the horns and accommodated some areas of their grounds with the facility.

Our referenced source, Luton Today also concentrated on the fact that Luton Town are asking the support whether they would like to see the introduction of such areas at the forthcoming Power Court development.

Now it is a subject we have already discussed on Vital Luton Town – luton-support-give-thumbs-up-to-safe-standing-implementation – and as you can see the idea got your support.

But, and the crux of this article today is, when it comes to building Power Court would you like to see safe-standing areas scattered al over the ground or just in one place, probably where the vociferous element of our support would congregate?

Personally, I would like to see both stands behind the goal fitted out with safe-standing, after all, when you see the big games on TV it is hard to spot anyone who is sat in their seats when the action hots up.

For me it has to be at one end behind the goal. Preferably if alignment right an give us an oak road back 😊 happy days.

I would like to see safe standing behind both goals at Power Court. Depending on cost and timing, maybe the lower tier at the Kenilworth Road end could be returned to standing! My first game at the Kenny was Boxing Day 1962 against Chelsea and I have not seen a reason for mass seating areas in that time providing it’s supervised properly.
