One deal that was sealed on transfer deadline day saw the Hatters sign a young striker.
With Cameron Jerome and Harry Cornick having left the club, joining Bolton Wanderers and Bristol City respectively, the Hatters secured the signature of the young Peterborough United striker, Joe Taylor.
At just 20-years-of-age, Taylor is obviously one for the future and joins the other young strikers on the clubs books, Aribim Pepple and John McAtee.
However, Taylor could be called upon if Luton are hit by injuries to Carlton Morris, Cauley Woodrow or Elijah Adebayo.
Looking at his record, he hasnβt hit the target anywhere on a regular basis except when he was on-loan at non-league Wroxham where he netted over a goal a game.
When it comes to his signing, there were mixed reactions on social media, firstly those who were gloating over the deal:
Enjoy a player whos must exciting moment for us was a failed bicycle kick π

Obviously Posh fans enjoying receiving their βundisclosedβ fee for the youngster.
But there are some positive posts:
Look after him, he is really good player

Personally, Iβll sit back and give the lad a chance, if the back room team are confident this lad can make it then Iβm not going to argue against them.

lots of strikers to develop.will be good to see them blossom.COYH.
a bit of competition never hurt anyone.
Think pepple will be in and around the 1st team rest of this season.
If we had any positive outcomes from any of the young lads we have bought, I would be thrilled… But preparing to be uninspired when he leaves in 2 years tbh.
Once we start seeing the fruits of our hard work and investment in development will definitely be exciting again… One day.
Myself I think Mick Hartford is a better judge of potential than anyone likely to post on here.
He is but, some flourish some don’t, no matter who gives them a chance….
Not sure if the person from his previous club was giving a back handed compliment to Taylor in calling him the next Craig mackal Smith as he was no great shakes with us. ππππ
I was thinking along the same lines π
