Luton – Here’s Hoping Nakamba Injury Isn’t Too Serious

In the sixty-eighth minute, the Hatters boss was forced to make a substitution after Marvelous Nakamba picked up an injury.

Since signing, on loan, from Aston Villa for the remainder of the season, the Zimbabwe international has shown us just how good he is sat in front of the defence.

His presence in protecting the back-four has helped the Hatters become a more solid defensive unit and it is interesting to see that Luton Town have not conceded a goal from open play in the last three matches, if only we hadn’t conceded penalties in each of the last three fixtures, Coventry City, Preston North End and Burnley.

But as I explained in an article on that subject – paying-the-penalty-as-more-points-are-lost – we can talk about ifs and buts all day.

Now I’m under no illusions as to the continued presence of Nakamba, at Kenilworth Road, he cost Aston Villa a cool £11 million and although he can’t get a game for the Midlands club, I’m pretty sure that they’ll want to recoup more of that fee we can afford.

Therefore, I’ve got my fingers crossed that the injury he picked up doesn’t prove to be too serious and that he can shake it off and be available for selection, against Birmingham City, next Saturday, thereby continuing to serve his purpose as a loan player.

But how do you feel Marvelous has performed since arriving at Kenilworth Road, please feel free to have your say in the comment facility beneath this article.
