Those who run the Carabao Cup really do work in mysterious ways.
After making the draw for the second round of the competition, a draw in which Luton Town were drawn away to Reading, a tie the Hatters won, the draw was made for the third round.
In that draw, the winners of the aforementioned tie were awarded a home tie against Manchester United FC, a tie the Hatters support are eagerly awaiting and a tie that will take place next Tuesday evening down at Kenilworth Road.
But after confusing this simple soul with those plans, I found out yesterday that before we have even been given the chance to produce a cup shock, the draw for the fourth round has been made.
Apparently, if / when we overcome the challenge presented by Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s side we will take on the winners of the third-round tie between Preston North End and Brighton and Hove Albion.
It is getting to the stage where I dare not look in case the draw for the fifth-round has been made!

Luton Town – Time For Action After The Demise Of Another Club
Hi MH, yes it is a little baffling isn’t it re the rapidness of the ties for the next round of league Cup matches. Why the hurry? Obviously winning can become a welcome habit but of course staying in & hopefully doing well in the championship has to remain the main focus. But with nothing to lose we may do very well in the Cup competition & I don’t think any fan would complain if we relived the glory days of 88 & lifted it again 😊 COYH
now wouldn’t that be great, dreams do come true 🙂
