This time last year, a Hatters favourite, Danny Hylton, had seen his Luton Town career, come to an end.

After six years with the Hatters, during which he made 170 appearances and scored on 62 occasions, his contract was allowed to expire, and Danny was seeking pastures anew.

On 21-June-2022, Danny put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal with Northampton Town.

With the deal signed and subsequently covered by us – hatters-hero-hylton-joins-northampton – I feel duty bound to report how Danny has fared since joining the Cobblers.

After being released, it was generally felt that dropping down to League Two would see Danny rediscover his goalscoring form.

Unfortunately, that hasn’t proven to be the case.

In the first season of his two-season deal, Danny did not, despite making 24 appearances, manage to score a goal.

However, while Danny would have, no doubt, been disappointed at that statistic, he should be praised for helping Northampton Town achieve promotion and secure a spot in League One.

Now aged 34, and participating in the swansong era of his career, it remains to be seen how Danny fares in League One, here at Vital Luton Town, rest assured, we’ll keep an eye out on how our former striker progresses.
