Once again, with the Hatters having acquired another player, their seventh of a hectic summer, it is time to conduct the acid test.
Signing a new player is always risky, expectation levels are high, and they can take time to settle.
But the best way to gauge how good an asset they are comes from postings left on social media by supporters of the club they have just left.
Delving into social media posts relating to our latest signing, Carlos Mendes Gomes, proved to be a pleasant experience.
Unlike carrying out the same test on our sixth signing of the summer, Amari’i Bell – luton-the-amarii-bell-signing-the-acid-test – where the Blackburn support left bitter remarks, there is nothing but praise from the Morecambe support when it comes to Carlos, as the following posts perfectly illustrate:

Hi jimbo, I watched him 4 times in total and he was quiet. Maybe after a long season he was leggy so I’m happy to wait an let him prove me wrong
