Two home games, in eight days, have seen the Hatters draw with lowly Wigan in the FA Cup and lose at home to West Bromwich Albion in the Championship.

After a run of three consecutive wins, in the EFL Championship, the confidence of the Hatters support may have taken a knock.

But, here at Vital Luton Town, we feel obliged to point out that West Bromwich Albion are the best side seen at Kenilworth Road, so far this season.

And when it comes to the FA Cup, anything can happen.

After the game against West Bromwich Albion, Rob Edwards, talking to BBC Sport, had this to say about the defeat:

“I was delighted with the start. To go 2-0 up was well deserved and exactly how we wanted to be – aggressive and on the front foot, playing forward, thinking forward and scored a couple of really good goals.”

Which begs me to ask, did scoring those two early goals awaken the sleeping giant?

Continuing, Edwards added:

“Ultimately it was the way we conceded the goals that was the disappointing thing. Yes, they created chances, but the goals we created came from our mistakes.

“We’ve been really good at defending our box, stopping the crosses, clearances, and today we got punished for making some of those errors.”

It’s hard to argue that point, we didn’t help our own cause with some slack defending and that is something Edwards and his back room team will, surely, be working on this week, time permitting as we have two games against Wigan looming, which could, now, be given ‘must win’ status!

Do you agree with Edwards sentiments of disagree?
