Luton Boss Set To Reach Remarkable Milestone

This Saturday, the Championship fixture, against Sunderland at Kenilworth Road, will see the gaffer, Nathan Jones, reach a significant milestone.

The game will be the 300th fixture in which Nathan Jones has managed Luton Town, meaning that he will become only the 3rd manager in the Hatters history to reach such a milestone.

Only two managers, David Pleat and Dally Duncan, 609 and 514 games respectively, lie ahead of Nathan.

Looking at the 299 games he’s been in charge, the record reads as thus:

Wins – 140
Draws – 81
Losses – 78

The Hatters have come a long way since Nathan’s first game in charge on 16th January 2016 when Luton drew 0-0 with Cambridge United in the fourth tier of English football.

However, Nathan could be approaching 350 games in charge of the Hatters but for the eight-month dalliance with the Stoke City hot seat, a spell that, to put it mildly, soiled his relationship with the Luton support.

Nevertheless, any doubters were somewhat silenced when he returned to Kenilworth Road and saved the club from what seemed like an odds-on relegation.

Luton, under the stewardship of Nathan, have come a long way, would anyone care to predict what dizzy heights it could reach?

Please feel free to have your say on Nathan’s reign as the gaffer in the comment facility beneath this article.

as long as he has the passion to run this team, then i would be happy to have him for another 300 games. like everyone on this forum, i have been annoyed at some team selections, but he knows how the players feel, injury ,sickness etc. we should feel lucky to have a young, dedicated top manager at this club. the foundations are being laid for this club to have a very bright future, some very bright prospects are coming through the academy. lets hope N.J.is here to enjoy it.COYH.
