Phew! Who would have believed, after that poor first half performance that Luton Town would turn it around in such dramatic fashion?
The first half, for the Hatters, against a side second from bottom in the EFL Championship, was, to put it mildly, poor.
There didn’t seem to be any passion to our play, and everything appeared to be done in slow motion, even the marking for Blackpool’s opening goal was lacklustre, Luton, normally, don’t concede from open play in recent times.
But the equaliser, from Pelly Ruddock-Mpanzu seemed to wake the Hatters up and, allied with a few harsh words from Rob Edwards, they looked a different side in the second half and could have added to the two goals, scored by Carlton Morris and another from Pelly Ruddock-Mpanzu.
Naturally, social media is alive with plaudits for the second half performance, as the following illustrate:
Great second half – get that Pelly statue at Power Court in writing

Very good second half, Nakamba was class again. COYH

The sense of urgency from kick off second half was really pleasing to see after a complacent first half….what a club

Indeed, Pelly continues to go from strength-to-strength but if we do, by chance, reach the play-offs, and it is looking more likely each game, we cannot afford to be as poor as we were in the first forty-five minutes again, or those promotion hopes could be dashed for a second season running.

Luton – That Easter Sunday Flashpoint
Dreadful game .scoreline doesn’t reflect how bad it was against a poor team yet they made us struggle.
results are more important than performances at this stage of the season (so they say)!
Yes mh result mattered.but was a poor against a poor team.not an enjoyable watch.
I’m not sure any of the games between now and when a play-off place is secured will be good to watch, too much pressure.
you are dead right chris, looked like fatigue had set in. but they stuck to it ,and with a bit of luck came away with a fine win. nakamba seems to have built in radar, he is such a good player. do we have to use the long ball so much.? lets keep winning. COYH.
More importantly, everyone around us tripped over… From an 8pt gap with 6 to play to now 9pt gap and 5 left.
Winning matches when you play bad is usually a good sign so I’m chuffed (and actually got the score right for once 😂)
have you done the lottery for the next draw? 🙂
My predictions this week are terrible MH so think I’ll save a quid 👍
🙂
Chill out boys….3.1 against a side fighting for survival after a hectic period…..don’t think the wind was ever going to make this a classic…..just enjoy the ride for God sake…..
at least the rain stopped 🙂
