Luton – April Reflections

The month of April has come and gone and, as far as Luton Town are concerned, it was a pretty fine month.

The Hatters played SIX EFL Championship fixtures and were not beaten once, with the SIX fixtures ending as thus:

• Luton Town 2 Watford 0
• Millwall 0 Luton Town 0
• Luton Town 3 Blackpool 1
• Rotherham United 0 Luton Town 2
• Reading 1 Luton Town 1
• Luton Town 2 Middlesbrough 1

For me, the highlights of the month were, naturally, beating Watford and also beating Middlesbrough, both being fixtures played at Kenilworth Road.

Further delving into the statistics, we can see what a decent month April turned out to be:

14 points
6 games
4 wins
2 draws
0 defeats
10 Goals scored.
3 Goals conceded.

In fact, it is fair to say that when, as far as grabbing a play-off place was concerned the Hatters more than delivered.

But, returning to the start of the month, how did you fare in our regular monthly poll, entitled:

April Will See Luton Earn How Many Points

With three options to choose from:

0-7 points
8-14 points
15-21 points

As it turned out, the poll was somewhat ruined when it was decided that our penultimate EFL Championship game, against Blackburn Rovers was moved from 29th April to 1st May, to suit Sky Sports live coverage.

But, nevertheless, the results were as thus:

0-7 points – 10%
8-14 points – 61%
15-21 points – 29%

Or perhaps, using poetic license we should revisit this particular poll after the Blackburn game and assume, like it was originally scheduled, played in April?

To be honest mh, never mind April. Who amongst us truly believe that we would be in this position with 2games to go at Xmas. The play offs we could imagine an dream but certainly not third or fourth. They have smashed my prediction an no matter what happens everyone at the club deserves the highest praise. Thanks for giving the fans their pride back. An seeing us back where we belong.

Well said CW and well done to all at the club, now time for the cherry on top of another great season

Tbf MH, an ifollow subscription becomes worthless from March onwards when Sky remember we exist and have to acknowledge us, so max their quota of Luton games every week… So subconsciously I predicted the Blackburn game moving out originally 🤣🤣🤣

It’s been a great season for us fans and the club as a whole . What ever happens in the playoffs it’s been a really great season . My worry now is if we don’t go up so called bigger clubs are going to come calling for a few of our boys like toland of course we won’t be able to hold on to the loan boys either so these playoffs are going to be so important to the club this summer .
