The last 48 hours have seen the Hatters linked with the acquisition of a goalkeeper currently on the books of West Bromwich Albion.
But have we been hoodwinked, is there another target or are Luton taking no chances?
With Simon Sluga set to leave the club – luton-set-to-spring-a-big-transfer-surprise – it had been intimated that the Croatian would be replaced by Alex Palmer.
But, this morning, another name is now also in the frame.
According to Luton Today, the Hatters are also showing interest in 29-year-old Aston Villa keeper, Jed Steer.
Steer is down the goalkeeping pecking order, at Villa Park, and a move to Kenilworth Road, if the clubs can agree a deal, might appeal.
Sat here in the editorial chair, I reckon both Palmer and Steer are viable options, if Sluga goes, to provide both competition and cover for James Shea.
But will a deal be gotten over the line before the transfer window slams shut?
That is for us to wait and see.

Morning mh, our transfer market is in shreds I hear. It may be we have to wait till the last minute to do deals an they may be 3rd or 4th in line. Wba manager falls out with Johnstone. Aston villa to many penalty clauses Newcastle the same!!! Only my mystery man may happen as normal? Bet not.

Rea to Wigan rumours are gathering momentum!
i always look at the age of players rumoured to be moving to luton. would an older goalkeeper be acceptable, or should we hold out for younger players. risk of injury to older players must be factored into any deals. lots of rumours flying about, is it the agents that start these or am i getting to cynical ,or wiser in old age.COYH
For me i just wait and see there are so many players that get linked to ither clubs most of it it just rumors im sure we will see a couple of new boys by the end of it any update on Sluga saga
If Isted isn’t tried we will never know how good he is…..is a experienced keeper really a priority???? Rumours are always rife on transfer day don’t believe owt til it’d city and dry….
