Luton – All To Play For On Tuesday

On Tuesday, the Hatters play their last home of the 2020/2021 season when they welcome Rotherham United to Kenilworth Road for a Championship fixture.

With the Hatters sat in mid-table, it could be said that it is a typical end-of-season game for Nathan Jones side.

But that is not the case for our opponents, Rotherham United.

The Millers will arrive at Kenilworth Road fighting to avoid the dreaded drop into League One, a fear we faced at the corresponding stage of last season.

Rotherham know their future is in their own hands, if they can win at Kenilworth Road, they will climb out of the bottom three and everything will then rest on their final fixture of the season, against Cardiff City.

Indeed, a Rotherham win, on Tuesday, will see Derby County, managed by Wayne Rooney, plunged into the bottom three, a far cry from a couple of seasons ago when, managed by Frank Lampard, they competed in the Championship Play-Off Final against Aston Villa.

It is a game that Luton cannot afford to take lightly, and, because of the implications of the result, Sky Sports have decided to show the game live, with the kick-off being moved to 19:15 hours, the last time the Hatters will be featured live, on TV, this season.

At the time of writing, the Hatters are strong favourites to win this fixture with 80% of the votes cast, in our poll, opting for a Luton win.

But, if they do not start strongly, Rotherham could take advantage as they have so much more to play for.

Ahead of the Middlesbrough fixture, we pondered whether Nathan Jones would select a few youngsters, that did not happen, and I fully expect the boss to stick with those who have served him this season for this game.

I am going for a 2-0 Luton win, but will the curse of the Sky Sports cameras give Rotherham heart going into a game they need to win?
