Luton – A Derby Day Warning And A Memory

And so, the latest encounter with our near-neighbours, Watford, draws ever nearer.

However, those lucky enough to have secured a ticket could be in for something of an off-pitch ordeal.

According to media reports, including this one – Statement – from our opponents’ web site, implies that Hatters fans will, when they leave the ground after the game, be frog-marched down a certain route away from Vicarage Road, with the police fearful that bouts of violence could erupt if people are left to their own devices.

Therefore, expect to see a multitude of police eager to enforce the law if you step one foot out of line.

To me it seems to be overkill and reminiscent of the 1980’s when hooliganism was rife and it brings back to mind familiar treks to Vicarage Road where we had to navigate our way round an allotment to gain entrance to the away end, an away end that had the longest terrace steps I can remember but the least increase in elevation.

Those were the days!

i remember going to watford in the late sixties, and there weapon of choice was old pennies that had a sharp edge ground around the outside. when thrown, you could’nt see them until they hit you.thank god we went decimal? we stood on the side of the pitch not on the end. getting back to today, after watching watford fall apart against milwall , i hope we don’t get the backlash on sunday. they were truly smashed to pieces. what a great presence cooper is in milwalls team.they just aim for him, he nods the ball on,striker scores, how simple. sound familiar. looking forward to the game, this game has always been the big one. COYH.

As usual an over reaction by the scum an their police allies. As usual they will be picking out faces an coral ing us away from the rest of luton supporters an just being their pig ignorant selves trying to provoke us. Happens every time we go there. They are terrified of us.

i get the feeling you are not very keen on watford chris. travelling fans are always treated like shite, always have been ,always will. the police could act professionally, but they choose not to. this will never change as long as they can mistreat fellow human beings, and get away with it. record any misdeameanours, and put them on social media. you cannot call all football supporters hooligans. Hi jimbo, your right, but at 69 it annoys me to still get picked out of the crowd as a face days like that are long past me now. Yet the police still persist on putting back with the migs when I go to some grounds. An I still remember the scummer blowing a whistle from the crowd as John Moore went to head the ball an he caught it an the ref gave a penalty. The scummer endean scored the only goal from it an the riot that followed. I will always hate a scummer.

The ‘loons’ will do their thing whilst the vast majority will enjoy the event in peace. I am sure everyone likes it spicy when we get to play that soulless lot down the M1 and especially when we come away with 3 points! Soak it up I say COYH!
