As far as the Hatters go, we’re in a state of limbo at the moment.

Our fine form, since Rob Edwards took over has seen a play-off place secured with two games of the 2022/2023 season remaining.

All that remains to be confirmed is whether Luton Town finish 3rd or 4th.

But, with a play-off semi-final place already secured does Rob Edwards face something of a dilemma?

Does he continue to field his best side and try to accumulate as may points as possible or does he rest key players ahead of what could turn out to be a taut play-off competition?

Last season, when the Hatters took on Huddersfield Town, in the play-off semi-finals, the squad was rocked by injuries, something I believe contributed towards our failure to reach the final.

Is it worth, with so much at stake, risking the likes of Carlton Morris, Tom Lockyer, Marvelous Nakamba, to name just three off the top of my head?

Could the games, against Blackburn Rovers (a) and Hull City (h) be the ideal opportunity to give the fringe players, or youngsters, a chance to impress, or is it essential we keep the momentum going as we head towards a destiny defining end to the season?

Should Luton Rest Key Players Ahead Of The Play-Offs?

Personally I feel we have the personnel in midfield to cope there it’s the defence an forwards that could be a problem Rob said that defensively we could have three back by the play offs so if necessary Johnson an some other of our good defensive youngsters should be on the bench as for forwards he has Taylor who’s played all season for Peterborough an other youngsters awaiting their time put them on the bench if necessary.but keep our usual team together if possible.

Hi all, agree with Chris. Plus if we play with a weakened team against Blackburn there will be a few moans from other play off contenders. Start strong & make changes later. We all know what the powers at be will do if we make wholesale changes…..plenty of options coming back for the play offs for us, which is good news…
