Last night any slim hopes of the Hatters grabbing that second automatic promotion place were dashed when Sheffield United beat West Bromwich Albion.
The Blades 2-0 victory ensured that it was they that would be joining Burnley in the Premier League next season our congratulations go to both, although both will have a hard task to maintain that coveted top-flight status.
As I expected, before the shenanigans of last night, Luton Town will have to participate in the play-offs if they are to achieve their own dreams of Premier League football, in the 2023/2024 season.
As to whom we will be playing, in the semi-final stage, remains to be seen with only us and Middlesbrough having secured a place so far.
But, with two games of the 2022/2023 season remaining, something strange has arisen.
Both of those games, against Blackburn Rovers (a) and Hull City (h) will take place on a Monday, can anyone else recall a season where our last two games have taken place on a Monday, I certainly cannot!
