A step closer to Wembley!

Luton moved a step closer to Wembley yesterday with an emphatic 5-1 win over Hendon.

In front of a crowd of not much over 2000, Luton had to survive an early scare when the visitors took the lead through McClusky

Thankfully, being beyond didn`t last long with Aaron O`Connor putting the Hatters back on level terms, from the penalty spot, after Beckwith had been tripped in the box.

In the thirteenth minute Luton went ahead when Dance headed home a cross from Osano.

With their noses in front, Luton started to dominate Hendon and it came as no surprise when the lead was increased. The Hendon keeper, Thomas, spilled a shot from Osano and Wright expertly headed the rebound home.

3-1 up at half time, many expected it to become a landslide but Hendon battled well.

Luton didn`t increase their lead until the seventy-first minute but the goal heralded a spell of two goals in as many minutes.

The first, from Fleetwood, saw rte striker finish off a fine pass from Howells and the second, from O`Connor saw the player double his tally for the afternoon.

Now it`s just a matter of who we draw in the 1st round proper!
