I had hoped that the Hatters would be actively involved in the transfer market by now, but it hasn’t turned out that way.

Perhaps, with the Queens Platinum Jubilee in full swing, we may see some activity next week.

In the meantime, I thought I’d put together another of our series focussing on the summer signings, continuing with Reece Burke.

Burke joined Luton Town on 1st July 2021, from Hull City, on a free transfer.

Last season, Burke made 25 starts in the Championship with another 2 appearances from the bench but failed to score a goal.

When it came to the domestic cup competitions, Reece made 3 appearances and managed 2 goals, scoring against Cambridge United (a) and Chelsea (h).

His goal against Chelsea came in the 2nd minute and ignited an already vociferous Kenilworth Road crowd, shame the game ended in defeat for the Hatters.

But how do you feel Reece did in his first season with the club?

Reece Burke - First Season?

Top Notch!

Top Notch!

Good!

Good!

Average!

Average!

Poor!

Poor!

Personally, I was impressed with Burke, he’s a cool, clam cultured defender who has the ability to step up and play the ball out from defence. With Naismith now history, I’m expecting Reece to step up and become the leader among the back-four.

But do you concur with my views of beg to differ?

I agree to give fringe players their chance.especially Thorpe & Mendes Gomes. & when are we ever going to DARE to blood academy youngsters ?

Uniteds GREATEST team came from daring to blood the class of 92 thats 6 youngsters !!

Fergie stuck his neck out & almost got relegated in the first year. But he stuck to his beliefs & oodles of Titles & cups vindicated his youth policy .

Sadly few premiere league teams dare do that anymore ! Obsene Mountains of TV money mean they can buy instant reasdy to hit the ground running foreigners .
