As a football addict, watching Derby County v WBA and then QPR v Bournemouth eased the pain, slightly, of there being no Luton fixtures for the immediate future.

Sadly, I had to swerve the Newcastle v Manchester United game as not even I can persuade the wife that it would be better than watching the soap operas.

But watching the two EFL games, allied with the continual rapid spread of the latest variant of the COVID virus, got me thinking.

With the UK government assuring us there will be new restrictions introduced before the New Year, allowing the virus to further spread, I pondered over just when we may see the Hatters in action again.

This January, Luton are scheduled to play FIVE fixtures, including one in the FA Cup 3rd round against Harrogate Town, but how many of the fixtures listed below will Luton actually get to play?

• 01-January – Coventry City v Luton Town
• 09-January – Luton Town v Harrogate Town (FA Cup)
• 15-January – Luton Town v AFC Bournemouth
• 22-January – Sheffield United v Luton Town
• 29-January – Luton Town v Blackburn Rovers
