A 0-0 draw at Lincoln saw the Hatters extend their lead at the top of the table to five points.

John Still, for this fixture, kept the same starting eleven that had battled against the elements to defeat Barnet last time out, the only change to the sixteen being the presence of Kane Ferdinand on the bench.

Luton got the action underway attacking the end that housed in excess of 1,000 travelling supporters.

The first five minutes saw very little meaningful action, the only half chance coming the way of Fofan who dragged a shot wide. In the seventh minute Tyler had to remain alert to rush out and kick clear as Sam-York bore down on goal. With eleven minutes gone, Tyler easily collected a long range curling effort from the same Lincoln City player.

As the game started to open up, Guttridge drove a free kick against the wall before Griffiths, latching on to a half cleared ball, tested Farman with a shot. Benson, driving towards the box, was fouled by Foster who received a yellow card for his misdemeanour. From the free kick, in a dangerous place, Guttridge saw his effort clip the wall and deflect for a corner.

Good work from the Hatters, involving McNulty, Howells and Gray saw Luton win a corner but when the ball was swung across Benson headed well wide. Another corner from Guttridge saw Benson`s header o wide but nearer the mark as Luton started to play the better football.

Griffiths, surging forward, almost opened the scoring with thirty-three minutes gone but after exchanging passes with Howells drove a shot just over the bar. A Lawless cross almost found Howells but was diverted for a corner which Benson headed over the bar.

Lincoln responded by earning their first corner of the match with thirty-eight minutes gone but despite a good ball in Brown`s header, at the back post, was a foot wide. Lincoln maintained the pressure and after a good defensive clearance from Griffiths Fofana saw a shot exit the ground. Sam-Yorke, having produced a decent turn, shot just wide.

A swift counter attack, close to the half time break, saw Benson head over, from eight yards out, after good work from Lawless and Howells. As half time beckoned Gray fluffed a chance to score, miss-hitting a shot from close range after great work from Lawless and Henry.

Half Time – Lincoln 0 Luton 0

Lincoln got the second half underway and Benson almost engineered the first chance of the half for Guttridge but his resulting shot was deflected. It was the last piece of action the midfield man was involved in with the player going off, limping, to be replaced by Kane Ferdinand.

As Lincoln tried to edge ahead, Tyler saved a header from Brown, Robinson, for the home side, fired over the bar on fifty-three minutes. Luton responded with a right wing cross from Henry but Howells header was of target.

Midway through the half Lawless again surged forward but his through ball to Benson couldn`t be controlled and the scoring opportunity was lost. Gray, as Luton tried to edge ahead, saw his shot blocked after good work from Griffiths to keep the attack going.

Lincoln almost got the first goal of the game when Luton failed to clear the ball and Sam-Yorke volleyed over. With fifteen minutes to go it was still all square. Ferdinand and Gray both had shots blocked with Davis providing a brilliant clearance to cut out a cross from Wright.

As the game entered its last five minutes it was anybody`s to win. Two minutes from the end of normal time Gray saw his low shot saved by Farman. With three added minutes announced Gray slid a shot wide. In the final minute of stoppage time Luton forced a corner but it was to come to nothing and the game ended 0-0
