Let’s Start Another Long Unbeaten Run And Let’s Hammer On That Championship Door

|

Defeat, last night, isn’t the end of the world!

Placed in a difficult position, having to pick up the reigns, on a temporary basis, following Nathan Jones decision to up sticks and join Stoke City, our caretaker boss, Mick Harford, would have been hoping that his side could do the business and secure a 4th round trip to take on Chelsea, ironically one of the many clubs Mick played for during a long career.

But, it just wasn’t to be.

Although the Hatters battled hard and were never out-classed, their Championship opponents, courtesy of a goal from Atdhe Nuhiu, secured that lucrative tie at Stamford Bridge.

Following the final whistle, talking to the media and as reported by the BBC, Harford had this to say:

“The players were magnificent, against a Championship team, we went toe to toe for 90 minutes. They had a little spell in both halves where they’ve dominated possession a little bit, but never really hurt us.

“I think chance-wise, shots-wise we dominated them and are very, very unfortunate to not come away with some kind of result.

“I’m very proud of the players. I’ll repeat it again, if we play like we did tonight and we did on Saturday, we’ll be in the shake-up at the end of the season, absolutely.”

And that surely has to be our priority.

Luton Town have two tough games coming up, against Peterborough and top-of-the-table Portsmouth, let’s make sure we get back to winning ways, let’s start another long unbeaten run and let’s hammer on that Championship door.
