Hatters v Owls

It will be nice to play a team who consider us to be a bit of a bogey team for a change.

Drew Talbot will be looking to get on target against his former club and Mike Newell will await the result of his appeal against Sol Davis’s red card before deciding on his squad, although I believe there is little chance of his succeeding with the appeal.

Vital Quotes:

Mike Newell on www.lutontown.co.uk:

“It (Victory over the Owls)would be a bonus to the points at Leicester and Stoke – not being at full strength and not having a full squad to choose from – if we win tomorrow night.

“Since Brian Laws has come they’ve had an upturn in form that’s maybe levelled off a little bit of late, but they are a good football club with a good following and they have resources available to them.

“But I’m not too concerned about them – it’s a win that we want. We haven’t won since the turn of the year but we have put in some good performances and have been unlucky on a couple of occasions.”

Luton Town Team News:

Luton will welcome back Leon Barnett after a lengthy injury and Drew Talbot returns to the squad after a stomach bug ruled him out at Stoke.

Russ Perrett is rated douibtful but Mike Newell is hoping that he will be fit enough to take a place on the bench at least.

Heikkinen will play before being suspended for Saturday’s game with Crystal Palace due to receiving his fifth caution before 28th February.

Player to watch: Bjorn Runstrom

Desperate to open his account, and will have no better chance than at home against a team which should be beaten.

Sheffield Wednesday Team News:

Player to watch: Chris Brunt

Usually causes us a few problems wherever they play him. He is supposed to be a winger but he had more positions than the Kama Sutra when Sturrock was boss!
